Open Position: Senior Analyst, Finance

The Senior Analyst is responsible for maintaining the existing costing system, establishing new products manufacturing costs, providing analysis and participating in the month / year-end finance and accounting processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare costing from Canada for new products.
    • work with production to determine labour and material requirements.
    • work with procurement to obtain quotes for raw materials, freight etc.
  • Review and finalize product costing from our Asian locations.
  • Periodically update costing files and calculate customer’s GM by SKU.
  • Assist sales team with analysis and ad hoc reports.
  • Assist account managers with change requests.
  • Maintain/Update products costing files.
  • Setup new customers, vendors, items (raw materials, finished goods) in NAV.
  • Update production labour file and assist with standard rates development.
  • Setup/maintain BOMs, routings, labour and overhead rates in NAV.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions; Assist with payments to our Asian facilities.
  • Oversee AR collections; review customer deductions and work with account managers and customer service department to investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with month end and year end accounting duties, analysis and account reconciliations. Including but not limited to:
    • Monthly Inventory reconciliations.
    • Prepaid Expenses, Accruals Journal entries.
    • Customers rebates calculation.
    • Maintain Fixed Asset register, calculate and book depreciation.
    • Sales and cost reports and analysis.
    • Cost allocations between divisions.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
    • Bank reconciliations on weekly basis.
  • Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting.
  • CPA designation.
  • 5-7 years experience in accounting /finance preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Cost Accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills required. Excel super user (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, ability to manage large amounts of data).
  • Understanding of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power BI – an asset).
  • Advanced problem solving and critical thinking in compiling and analyzing information.
  • Ability to understand cross functional impact and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
